In this interview with Rotem Brayer, Dr. Robert Tinker shares his lifelong attempts to make the world a better place with EMDR therapy. In addition to publishing studies about EMDR since 1995, pioneering EMDR therapy with children, and starting the very first humanitarian work with EMDR therapy (which eventually transformed into HAP), Dr. Tinker is sharing his own thoughts about how to do EMDR better.
Dr. Robert Tinker is a psychologist, researcher who had trained thousands of EMDR therapists around the world including the United States, Canada, Europe, Africa, Japan, China, and Kosovo. He has been publishing studies about EMDR since 1995 and co-authored the book Through the Eyes of a Child: EMDR for Children. Dr. Tinker started the first free EMDR clinic after the Oklahoma City Bombing, and started a non-profit that transformed to what today known as the Humanitarian Assistance Program (HAP). Dr. Tinker is the recipient of the Francine Shapiro Award in 2014.
