Many people are still wondering how EMDR therapy works. How does focusing on traumatic events while watching a light moving from side to side lead to healing? In this short video (5:26), Dr. Andrew Huberman explains what happens in the brain during EMDR therapy and how EMDR works.
Andrew Huberman, PhD, from the Department of Neurobiology at Stanford University, is trying to get a deeper understanding of the brain, and, more specific, to explain how our brains allow us to sense, evaluate, and respond to the external world. Dr. Huberman is working on developing methods to rewire and repair eye-to-brain connections and to understand how perception and internal states affect human behaviors.
