Meet Sadie Smith, a certified EMDR therapist and an EMDRIA Approved Consultant, who specializes in EMDR intensives. In this interview with Rotem Brayer, Sadie explains what EMDR intensives are, the research behind intensive EMDR, and how to make sure you do effective EMDR work. Toward the end of the interview, Sadie provides some resources to EMDR therapists who want to transition their practice to do EMDR intensives. Sadie is a faculty member at Scaling Up EMDR, where she teaches EMDR therapists how to do better EMDR Intensives.

About The Speaker

Sadie Smith

Sadie Smith is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who lives and practices in Denver, CO. She has been in practice for over 10 years working for county mental health agencies as well as running her own private practice. Sadie has recently focused her work on treating adults with intensive EMDR work, in addition to treating recent / single incidents, ongoing traumatic stress as well as comprehensive “story clearing,” Intensives. Sadie also works internationally in providing group and individual EMDR in various different contexts. As a Certified EMDR clinician, an EMDRIA Approved Consultant and a volunteer Trauma Recovery HAP basic training facilitator and trainer, Sadie enjoys providing quality EMDR treatment to her clients, as well as providing EMDR trainings and consultation to other clinicians in the U.S. and abroad.
