OVERVIEW
Learn more about healing trauma suicide trauma using EMDR and IFS!
This is a critical question for many therapists and we need to talk about suicide. Some clients we work with are indeed at risk of taking their own lives. Watch and learn essential techniques for safely addressing suicidal thoughts in clients by joining this webinar led by Annabel McGoldrick, an international advanced EMDR trainer and expert in integrating Internal Family Systems (IFS) with EMDR. Discover how to break the taboo of suicide in therapy and understand the positive intentions behind suicidal parts. In this webinar, Annabel will share practical approaches to befriend suicidal parts, gain permission for trauma processing, and support clients in finding non-lethal ways to achieve their goals. She emphasizes the importance of understanding suicidal parts from an IFS perspective and explains that parts with suicidal ideation are often “firefighters” trying to put out the intense emotional pain experienced by more vulnerable “exile” parts that hold disturbing attachment wounds.
Topics Covered:
- Introduction and Meditation
- Understanding Suicidal Ideation
- The Role of Parts in Suicidal Thoughts
- Breaking the Silence on Suicidal Ideation
