EMDR Consultation Is Changing: From Standards to Skill-Building with Rotem Brayer
June 9 @ 10:00 am – 11:00 am MDT

Most of us continue to grow as EMDR therapists by attending trainings, learning new protocols, and collecting new techniques. That kind of learning can be valuable, but it doesn’t always lead to greater clinical fluency, stronger decision-making, or more confidence when working with clients.
EMDRIA has recently introduced new standards for Approved Consultants and Consultants-in-Training (CITs). These changes give us an opportunity to think more clearly about what consultation is really for and how to get the most out of EMDR consultations.
Is consultation just a place to talk through cases? The short answer is no.
Effective EMDR consultations provide a space where EMDR therapists can develop stronger clinical judgment, practice core skills, receive feedback, and become more confident in their work.
In this webinar, I will review key changes in EMDRIA’s new consultant standards and connect them to a larger conversation about intentional practice in EMDR therapy. Drawing from my recent presentation at the 2026 EMDRIA Virtual Summit, I will explore the difference between passive professional development and skill-building that actually changes how we practice EMDR.
We will look at how consultation can move beyond case discussion and become a more structured, supportive, and clinically useful space for developing EMDR competency.
This webinar is for EMDR therapists, EMDRIA Approved Consultants, Consultants-in-Training, and clinicians who are considering certification or consultation roles in the future.🙂🗓️
