Learn helpful Phase One strategies and gain an understanding of why clients with severe trauma struggle in Phase Two, necessitating resources beyond standard mindfulness.
The second session of the book club delves into early strategies critical for working with clients who have severe trauma, specifically focusing on phases one and two of EMDR therapy. We will explore Helpful Strategies in Phase One and address the critical clinical question: Understanding Why Clients Struggle in Phase Two and why they require more than standard mindfulness resources to successfully process complex targets. This segment covers pages 24-67 of the book and aims to help participants articulate why many clients with extreme trauma struggle when utilizing standard resources in EMDR therapy. We will conclude with Participant Explorations and Questions.
