Join Thomas Zimmerman for the foundational session of the “EMDR With Complex Trauma” Book Club, designed to introduce helpful perspectives on working with clients dealing with severe trauma inside EMDR therapy. This session will focus specifically on What’s So Complex About Complex Trauma in EMDR Therapy and introduce participants to A Helpful and Central Metaphor for How Humans Heal, referencing work by Ecker and others. We will cover pages 1-22 of the book, setting the stage for understanding the phase-oriented approach needed when standard EMDR procedures meet the challenges of complexity. Following the discussion, time will be dedicated to Participant Explorations and Questions.
