Book Club Session 1 of 3: EMDR for Anger Management – SAFE Approach with Deborah Kennard
July 30 @ 11:00 am – 12:00 pm MDT

Setting the Ground for SAFE EMDR: Working with Anger Through Compassion and Stability
This book club series will support EMDR therapists in working skillfully with anger by engaging the concepts and practices from EMDR for Anger Management. Through discussion and experiential learning, participants will explore the SAFE approach and how mindful awareness, nonviolence, and compassionate assumptions can support stabilization, connection, and effective reprocessing within the EMDR 8-phase protocol.
Join us for Session 1 of the series, where we begin with the Principles of the SAFE Approach. This session focuses on establishing safety and clarity when working with anger in trauma treatment. Together, we’ll discuss the four principles of SAFE EMDR, explore how nonviolence shapes clinical stance, practice a boundary exercise to assess tolerance for connection, and examine how compassionate assumptions and the concept of “The Answer” support Phases 1 and 2 of EMDR work.
This three-part series is approved for 3 EMDRIA Credits. Attend all four sessions and earn the credits.
